Never say Never...

I guess I shouldn't have named my halloween scarf the never-ending halloween scarf. Because it finally ended! It's done! WooHoo! It is really long.
I'm 5'2" and I have to wrap it around my neck
twice to keep from stepping on the fringe.

So, here is a picture of it. Keep in mind it is the orange is a pumpkin orange not a neon orange and it is folded over about 3 times in this picture. I'm so glad to be done in time for Halloween. Of course, now it is in the 70's temp wise. Ugh. I'm probably still going to wear it tomorrow. I'm thinking if I do another one like this I'll do 20 or 25 stitches instead of 30. When I wore it I had to fold it in half width wise.

Today at work we had pumpkin carving day. I carved a pumkin using a pattern for the first time ever and I'm not all that sad about it. I think it turned out pretty good although there were some things I'd like to have done better. It took me a good 2 hours working on it to get done. But it was fun and that was the point. Tomorrow is the judging for best pumpkin. I'm sure I won't win but at least I learned how to do it this way.
It is supposed to be ghosts and pumpkins. I'm not sure if you can tell from this. Anyway...there it is. I'm not sure if I'm going to do the other pumpkin or not. I may just leave it alone and use it to cook for pies and bread and stuff.

Wow, is it hot here. I can't believe it is 75 degrees the day before Halloween. Ugh!

Well, since I have goofed off all day long, I suppose I should do some work.

Blessings... and happy Samhain Eve!

The end is near...

I've done it. I've really almost finished the never-ending halloween scarf. I have finished the knitting and sewn in all the ends. Now I'm just attaching the fringe. I'll be done tonight! YAY!!! I'm so very happy to be done with it and be able to wear it for halloween! I'll post pics when I can.

This weekend is very busy with the usual grandmother visits and needing to do yardwork and such. I also have to get my pumpkins ready and get candy and what not for halloween night. My favorite shop is having a halloween open house on Saturday and I want to stop by there and on Sunday I have a birthday party for a 1 year old to attend.

I also plan on working up my ritual for halloween and also a banishing spell to remove someone (safely with no harm to them or myself) from my life. It is way past time that the relationship end and I know of no other way to seperate us. I can't seem to do it on my own with out assistance. So, I'll ask the gods and goddesses to help me with a little magickal aid.

So, that is what I'll be doing this weekend. I hope to find some time in there to get online. I haven't been much at night this week and am behind on email and stuff. It looks to be a quiet day at work so maybe I can get caught up today.

Blessings,

Again with the knitting...

I bet you can't guess what I did last night. Come on, give it a try? Heh... I knit. I did manage to squeeze in two loads of laundry while I did it, but I pretty much sat and knit for about 2 and a half hours. I can see the end of the scarf coming soon. Yay! I think maybe two more good knitting sessions and it will be done. I'm also thinking about adding fringe to the ends. I hadn't planned on it at first, but now I'm thinking I want to. It would help to add some length to it and help me not have too much more to knit. hhmmmm.... What to do... What to do...

Now that it is turning cold, I'm having trouble getting up in the mornings. Last night I had taken a shower because I'd gone to the bar where my brother is working to visit for a bit and came out smelling like an ashtray. I hate that! So I showered, which helped a lot this morning when I woke up 45 minutes late. I managed to make it to work 10 minutes later than usual. Tonight I need to rake leaves and mow the yard. Anyway, I'm off to do some real work.

Nearing the end...

I am finally nearing the end of the never-ending halloween scarf. I am so excited! I was getting worried that I wouldn't have it done before halloween, but now it looks like I'll finish in the next day or two. Of course, I have done nothing but knit when I get home from work so some things around the house are kind of piling up - like laundry! I will work on laundry tonight while I knit and try to finish up the scarf. Of course, when it is finished I will take a pic and post for all to see.

Time to do some work.

Scarf bonding...

Last night, while watching tv, I spent a good 2 and a half hours of quality bonding time with the never-ending halloween scarf. I was able to get several more sections knitted. Hopefully tonight, I can have another few hours of quality time with it. :-)
Maybe if I keep this up, I'll actually get it finished BEFORE halloween. Wow...wouldn't that be great? Heh...

It was SO cold this morning! I love it! I started to go by Starbucks and get a caramel apple cider on my way to work, but I need to save the $$ and I knew I was going out for lunch today. So, I skipped it. I was at work at 6:50 this morning and ended up having to sit in the car because there was no one else there and I couldn't get in the building. I was sitting in my car freezing (even with the heat on) wishing I had a caramel apple cider. Next time, I'm going to get the drink!

Alright, I'm off to get some work done. Looks to be a not too busy day.

Knitting stuff...

Well, I actually accomplished some knitting yesterday while watching the Steelers game. (Poor Ben...he is having such a string of bad luck!) Anywho, I think I am now just over halfway there. I want it to be able to wrap it around my neck at least once and still have it reach near my knees. So, this will be really long. I'm not a tall person, but it will still be long. I really like the way it is working out.
I've also been looking at some knitting classes. All the ones I've found so far are during the weekday and I can't make those. I need to find something in the evenings. There are a fwe more places I can try locally because I really don't want to drive too far to take the classes.

I also purchased a few new skeins of yarn this weekend. It was red heart, 1 skein is the light blue (I can never have too much carolina blue!) and the other is a rainbow of colors. Very pretty. I'm not really sure what I'll do with the second one yet. There was a big yarn sale at Michaels this past week. I really wanted to get more, but I just couldn't justify spending the money when I have so much yarn at home and have nothing to make with it. I think this scarf is the last one I will do until I learn to knit something other than scarves. I guess that means no knitting until I take some classes. :-(

Yesterday morning I woke up with a blood spot in my eye. The last time this happened I ended up with a huge blood blister on my eyeball and had to go to several specialists and have cat scans and mris and they never could figure out what caused it. So far, it is just a big spot and no blister type bubble. It is very painful though, and I have some reaction to light.

Anyway, enough of my aches and pains. I'm going to go surf a little and then get back to the knitting of the never ending halloween scarf. :-)

Blessings,
~*~

Back to the old...

Well, I liked the garden template, but it just wasn't me. Not for this blog. Maybe if I had a gardening blog or something. There were several things that I could not get to work on it that I like having. So, I'm back to the old one. I'm still looking for another one to try.
Gonna go have dinner...back in a while...

Is it just me...

...or is everyone just feeling off lately? I haven't been feeling at all chatty, which explains my lack of blogging. I've wanted to blog, just haven't had anything at all useful to say. I'm also extremely moody. I'm short tempered and impatient with everyone and everything. I feel like the worlds biggest bitch. What really sucks is that I can't use PMS as an excuse for my bitchiness. :-(

Anyway, I'm going to a visitation tonight and am still trying to decide if I want to go to the funeral tomorrow. The woman that passed was a childhood friend. I hadn't spoken to her in about a year. I had serious issues with her choices and actions. I loved her, as friends do, but I just couldn't be around her without getting very depressed. She had been suffering from cancer for a very long time. She leaves behind a husband and three small children. I feel for those children. But somewhere inside me is the thought that they are better off now. Does that make me a bad person? I don't know. It's just what I think.

So, I'm done blogging for now. Almost time for lunch and a movie. Some of my co-workers and I have taken to having lunch in a conference room and watching a movie while we do. We watch as long as we can for our hour lunch and pick up where we left off the next time. The last was Matilda, which I absolutely adore! I have no idea what todays movie will be.

Oh, no knitting has been done this week. I'm so lame and such a slacker. I feel like I will never get this scarf finished. Especially not before samhain. Oh well...

Monday, again...

Is it monday already? I swear I feel like it was just Monday yesterday. It was a very long weekend with constant running and going. The yard sale was a complete bust with only 4 cars coming by and no one buying anything. I guess I'll have to wait until the spring and have one at my home. I think I'd have a good neighborhood for it.

I'm currently sitting in my chair with the gas logs on in the fireplace. So I'm sitting here warming up by the fire after having worked in the yard for a while, cleaned the litter boxes, cleaned out the fridge and taken out the trash. I'm tired and sleepy and cold, but I feel like I got some things done.

Anyway, I got a few rows done on my scarf, but no more progress. I did finish a book that I was reading and started another one. I am really liking this new one. It is pretty cool. Saturday I went with my friend to get some things from Home Depot that I couldn't get in my car. He also brought his rototiller over so I could till up my garden for winter planting. I came home from work today and pulled up what was left of my plants and then ran through the garden one time with the tiller. I'll have to do it again, but it satrted raining and I had to quit. So, I came in the house and did all the stuff I said above.

On Saturday after running the errands I went and got pumpkins for my house. I think they are cute. :-)

Well, time for Gilmore Girls and to check the laundry to see if it is ready to be swapped. I can't decide if I want anything for dinner or not. I've finally decided that I'm going to go back to Cancun this february and now I'm on a kick to lose some weight before I go. I have a goal in mind, but I'm not really sure how realistic it is. So, I'm off...I want to catch up on some blog reading and do some surfing and hopefully get some knitting in.

And I'm sending healing and peaceful/calm thoughts to Hawaii and everyone there. Hopefully everyone is fine and the damage isn't too bad.

Blessings,

Chilli...

Pixelle just reminded me that I'd said I would post pics of the chilli. (I'm not really sure about sharing the recipe!) :-)

Thanks for the reminder, Pixelle!

So that is what it looked like in the pan when I finally mixed everything in there. Geez, I hate these bad photos.

Anyway, it turned out fabulously! I always worry when I make it because I never seem to do the same thing twice. I mean, I just toss stuff in and see how it mixes. This time I used fresh tomatoes when usually I use frozen (from my garden) or canned. I really liked the consistancy with the fresh. I also put a lot more garlic than I usually do and it was great! I LOVE garlic.

Most chilli recipes that I've seen mix the uncooked ground beef (or whatever meat) in the pot with all the other stuff. Well, I don't do that. I cook my ground beef with several spices (a touch of oregano, basil, lots of black pepper, a dash of salt and garlic (how much depends on my mood at the time).

While the meat is cooking, I put everything else in the big pot. Here is what I add:

Kidney beans, dark or light, drained
onion, chopped
green bell pepper, chopped
tomatoes, chopped
garlic, diced
tomato sauce
tomato paste

Then I drain the meat and add it to the pot. Stir it up a bit and then I add spices. I never add the same spices twice. This time I used:

oregano
basil
chives
black pepper

And of course, tons of chilli powder.

Anywho, there ya have it. It sure has been good. And one pot of this can last me for weeks. I usually freeze half of it to have later, but right now my freezer is full and there is no room. So I've been having chilli at least once a day. :-) It will be good to have this weeked as the temps are supposed to drop again. I think the low tonight is supposed to be 38? Yay! I guess this means I need to close the windows! :-)

Okay, now I'm really going to go watch Snatch!

Blessings,
~*~

What do you mean it's Friday? It was just Monday, yesterday...

I can't believe this week is gone. I swear yesterday was Monday. No, really! :-)

Okay, so I didn't lose 3 days, I 've just been busy. I've done all kinds of things this week and none of them included knitting. :-( There has just been so much to do that by the time I could sit at night and knit, I was too tired to pick up the needles. I'm still getting ready for the yard sale tomorrow. I have gone through my yard sale box and tagged everything. I now have to go through another box of stuff that I'm not sure what to do with. I would like to just go through everything in the house and either toss it or yard sale it. But... there isn't enough time. That is something I can do during the winter and then have it ready for a spring yard sale. Yeah...that's the ticket! Heh..

Alright, so here are the photos as requested by Queen...

The first is the halloweenie scarf...although at this rate it is going to be a next halloweenie scarf! :-(

Please excuse the horrible picture. I had to take this in the bathroom mirro that is on the back of the door and the beastie was on the other side trying to get in. He doesn't like being left out...

And of course the colors are way off in this pic. I can't wait to get my new camera. I swear if I don't get one soon I'm going to scream! hee hee

Next we have a picture of my brother's new puppy.
He is the CUTEST THING EVER!!! :-)

(Um, no sweet beastie, I didn't say that your
cousin was cuter than you...I'd never say such
a thing! Heh heh...)

Is he not just so adorable!?! I could just snuggle and wuv him so much! I can't wait to see how big he gets! I love me some big dogs! I'm not a big fan of the little doggies. Probably because I've always been around big dogs. Not sure how I'd handle something small. :-)

Tomorrow, at the yard sale, I'll get to play with puppy! Yay!

Okay, so I'm going to go and finish watching Snatch. I've never seen it and have wanted to for a long time. Oh and if you get a chance, check out Click. I thought it was a pretty good movie. (And I'm not a big Adam Sandler fan!)

Monday is moving along...

So I left work today at 3 because I'd had all I could take and had put in my eight hours (I skipped lunch). I came home, started the laundry, started my chili, and took pics of my wreaths. I finished typing up the tags and will print them tomorrow at work and then take them to the shop.

I'm going to try to get a good pic of the scarf tonight for Queen and post it tomorrow. I have got to get a good camera soon. I found a deal on the one I want and think my mum is going to get it for me for x-mas. Yay!

Well, I'm off to read blogs and go check the chili and laundry. Then maybe I'll knit for a while. Tomorrow I'll post chili pics and possibly the recipe. mmmmmm....good! :-)

Blessings,
~*~

Monday, Monday...

So I finished my wreaths over the weekend. I also knitted another two sections on my halloween scarf. I think it is about halfway there. I put it on to see where it fell and I like it hanging at my knees so...I'm on the down slide with that! Yay! I may even get it finished before samhain! :-)

It was a very busy weekend! I had planned to make chili this weekend because the weather was just perfect chili making weather, but I was never home long enough to do it. I'll be leaving work today at 4 and I will go home and MAKE CHILI! (even though it is supposed to be 76 for a high) :-(

I have to put the tags on my wreaths and take them to the shop tomorrow. Then I really will be offically done with this batch. I already have some ideas simmering in my head about future wreaths, but they will have to wait for a little while. This week I have to get ready for a yard sale on Saturday at my SIL's. I need to get everything out and tagged.

Oh, I went to my brother and sil's on Saturday for a party for my brother (he turned the big 3-0!) and found that one of his so called friends had given him a puppy for his birthday! My brothers dog passed away last february and he and sil decided they weren't ready for another dog in the house (sil has one) and so had told this friend who wanted to sell him one that they weren't ready. So what does this friend do? Give him the puppy! I will say this...that puppy is absolutely adorable! I want one! He is a 6 week old pit bull and he is tan with a thin white stripe that goes all the way from between his eyes, down his face and under his chin to his belly. He is the sweetest thing! My brother's previous dog was a pit bull and he is really good with them. They came yesterday and picked up my old kennel that I used for my dog. They brought him with them and my beastie just loved the little one. He just sniffed at him and followed him around. It was great!

Okay, so I better go and get to work. I'll try to check in tonight.
Blessings,

Ready for sleep...

I'm very tired tonight. I think the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. I went by the store this afternoon to get something for the wreaths and found a few other things that I needed. I ended up hanging out visiting with the clerk for over an hour. It was fun though.

I worked on wreaths tonight. I have 3 mini's done (with the exception of oils and charging under full moon), and 2 large ones. Both of the large ones are holiday related. I have to make up the herb bag and charge the wreath and the other one needs a few more decorations on it. It is a "traditional" halloween (traditional meaning hollywood, etc) wreath.

Enough about the wreaths...I'll take a few pics (lousy ones I'm sure) later and try to post them.

Today was not a good day. As I mentioned earlier today, "Trouble" was hinting all day about wanting to 'visit' after work. So when I left I headed home instead of running errands so that I could meet him. Anyway, I'm halfway home and I get an email saying he can't make it...it's too late in the day. WTF? It was the same time as yesterday when he says he came by my house but I wasn't home yet.

I'm so angry about this situation. I'm angry at him, but I'm mostly angry at me for letting him control me. That is what he is doing...controlling me. So, I have decided it is time for him to leave. This situation has been going on for over four years and it is time for it to come to an end. I am going to start writing a spell and working on a ritual to end our relationship amicably and with no harm to either of us.

Oh me...I'm sleepy. I'm going to go to bed as soon as CSI is over.

Blessings,

~*~

The storm is a comin...

I just came back into the office from picking up lunch and can feel a storm on the horizon. I love storms. I think I've mentioned that before. I should go home and mow my yard, like I did last week, but I have several errands I need to run and many things that need to be done.

I worked on my knitting last night. I finished two more sections. I still don't know how long I'm going to make it, but it isn't there yet.

The work day has been going by pretty quickly for not having a lot to do. I've been out to two different sites and I think that makes the day go by faster. I only have two hours left before I can go home for the day. I'd love to take tomorrow off, there is so much to do at home that I could fill up the day, but I really don't have any days to spare right now. The migraine induced sick days have left me with very few sick days left and I certainly can't afford to take days off without pay. Ugh...

So, I'm going to go and see if there is something that I can work on in the office for the next two hours and then I'm outta this place! I want to get my errands run after work, but I'm also being tempted to partake of some fun with trouble... Let's see...fun or work...fun or work...hmmmm...

Oh well...I'll right of my escapades later tonight.
Blessings,

Time is not on my side...

This has been the longest day and it is only 10:30 in the morning!! I'm so tired and bored! I'm sitting at my desk falling asleep. I still haven't decided if I'm going to the event this afternoon. I really don't want to go, but I feel like if I don't I'll be penalized for it. My head is still hurting and if I don't go that is the reason I'm giving.

I don't think anyone in my office area will be staying behind, so I could watch a movie (Chocolat) and knit while passing the time. I was in early again this morning, so I get to leave early too. Yay!

Anyway, I'm off. I'm going to go step outside to get some fresh air and see if that will wake me up!

Now ... in Beta...

After putting in my last post, I found the blogger in beta switch button on my dashboard, so I switched! :-)

Everything went well. The only thing I had to do was tweak the photo in my about me section. I'm pretty happy so far. Everyone has been raving about it so much and I'm glad I've got it moved.

I still like my template, but I may look for something different later. Alright, now that this is done, I really am going to do some blog surfing...

Blessings,

Tired, but progress made...

I am very tired tonight. I haven't been sleeping well the last several nights and I think it is beginning to catch up with me. I did get a tiny bit of laundry (sheets and comforter) washed. I still have to go make the bed up. I worked on my wreaths tonight. I was able to get two mostly done. I need to pick up a few things to finish them and tomorrow I hope to get a few more done.

My head is still bothering me. I am hoping that it will slack off some soon. I still haven't called the specialist yet...I'm just not sure they can do anything to help me so I don't want to waste the money.

Today was an interesting day. "T" was very complimentary and attentive to me today. It makes me wonder what he wants. Isn't that sad? I wish I could trust him, but I just can't.

There has been no progress on the knitting front. I swear I'm going to get my halloween scarf finished before halloween. I am going to take my knitting with me to work tomorrow. There is a "team building" event at one of the supervisors house for the afternoon and if we don't go to that we have to stay at work. Either way I should be able to get some knitting done. If I don't go to the party, I'll more than likely be the only person in the office and should be able to knit. So I'm going prepared! I'm seriously pissed at this particular supervisor for some things that have been going on and I really don't want to go to the event.

Alright, I'm going to sign off and do a little blog surfing.

Ants, Ants - There are everywhere...

I am so sick of ants. I have had them all summer and they just won't go away! I have used an entire bottle of poison on them and they just keep coming! I think I live on the Ant Hellmouth! I wish the cold would hurry up and get here so they would go dorment.

abcFamily has moved Gilmore Girls to 7 instead of 5 and now I'll get to get caught up on season 6. I haven't bought it yet, because I just can't justify the expense right now. I'll put it on my holiday wishlist and probably end up with it. Yay! I'm going to finish paying bills while I watch GG and Prison Break.

I want to work on wreaths, but I don't feel like dragging everything out to do it. I think I have finally figured out how to setup my work area so that stuff can stay organized and I don't have to work off my couch. But, I still have to actually set it up. I'm going to take down my daybed in the office and move it to the shed (it will be perfect out there when I fix up my room out there) and get a desk to use for my pc. That will free up my table for use as my work area for my crafts and such and also give me room to set up my sewing machine.

Anywho, I'm hoping to get that done in the next week or two. I'm waiting to see if I can get this desk from my mum, which depends on her getting a desk from her mum.

I've been giving some thought to the whole blog moving issue and have decided to wait to move this one to Blogger in Beta when they offer it to me. I am going to be setting up a site (on a blog I'm sure) for SpiritWitch Designs soon and will probably start that one on Blogger in Beta. I've heard good things about it from several blogs I read.

Well, gonna run now and get the rest of the bills paid. Hopefully I'll have some money left to get through the month.

Quiet for a monday...

So far this morning it has been pretty quiet at work. I've been listening to some Evanescence and I painted my fingernails. I didn't do much of anything last night except a few loads of laundry and I watch Walk the Line. That was a fabulous movie! Joaquin and Reese were excellent! If you haven't seen it I recommend you do.

So, all weekend I tried to prepare myself mentally for not having "T" around. And then, guess who shows up? He came in with an attitude and hasn't spoken to me yet. Which I suppose could be a good thing.

I need to get started on my wreaths tonight, after I finish paying bills. I have to have the wreaths finished by Thursday night so that I can charge them on Friday. This week looks to be pretty busy. I have to start getting things ready for a yard sale, make at least 3 or 4 wreaths, mow the yard, dinner on Friday night, library book sale and Grandmother duty and a class and my birthday party on Saturday and Sunday have dinner with friends. When am I going to have time to knit?? :-(

Anywho, I suppose I need to go and get some work done. I think I'm going to have to go buy the new Evanescence cd tomorrow when it comes out. I really like it. :-)

Happy October!

I'm so happy that October is here. I love October. I think it is my favorite month. I was going to get my halloween stuff out today, but I didn't get it done. My head has been killing me and I had a row with my Grandmother this morning. So that put me in a fabulous mood. I'm finally home, having put away my groceries and had dinner. I've feed the kids and am not watching Batman Begins. I haven't done any knitting this weekend and I still have some bills to pay. I really need to get the bills paid tonight so I can mail them tomorrow.
Y'know, Liam Neeson is a good looking man. Oh, sorry, got distracted! :-)

I went to AC Moore today and got a lot of stuff on sale. Most of it is for my wreaths. I finally found a stamp that I can use as my logo. I've decided to work on starting a small business and I needed a logo for my tags and stuff. I'm calling it SpiritWitch Designs. What do you think? I'll sell the wreaths that I've posted pictures of on my blog before and I also have some other ideas in the works.

Alright, just wanted to say hello and Happy October. Hopefully the fall weather will return soon and I can really get down to enjoying fall.
